Sustained Impact allows food businesses to:
- Get a clear overview: See the average environmental impact and how it's distributed across your entire product portfolio.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments: Assess the environmental footprint of each product SKU in your range, both food and packaging products.
- Model lifecycle changes: Simulate how changes to a product's lifecycle, whether for improvement or detriment, affect its environmental footprint in real time.
- Compare products: Analyse and compare products to identify key differences in their environmental impact.
- Measure baseline manufacturing footprint: Establish your baseline manufacturing footprint to track progress on your sustainability journey.
- Set impact reduction targets: Set measurable targets to reduce your environmental impact and track progress over time.
- Forecast environmental impact: Estimate the total environmental impact of manufacturing a product range over a month, quarter, or year.
- Track progress over time: Upload historical manufacturing data to track progress against your baseline and sustainability targets.
- Prepare disclosures: Download the climate, nature and UK packaging workbooks your reporting asks for, built from the reports you already run. See Disclosures.
- Get data from your suppliers: Ask suppliers for their footprints, use what they send in your models, and share your own through the Sustained Registry. See Registry.
- Account for circular ingredients: Mark a raw material as a co-product or residue, use your own co-products as ingredients, and see the circular share of your input mass and the impact avoided compared with the conventional ingredient each line replaces, beside the footprint and never subtracted from it. See Circular ingredients: co-products and residues.
How It Works
Sustained Impact uses the industry-leading Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) framework, the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) method, and combines primary product data with secondary data from Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) databases for accurate, real-time analysis.
