When a customer asks you for data through the Registry, the request arrives in Registry > Inbox under Needs you, with an email to your registry request handlers.
Who receives requests
On Settings > Company > Users, a user's Registry requests setting marks them as a handler: Handles requests or Not a handler. Handlers receive the requests other organisations send you and can answer them by publishing. Only Global Admin, Global Super User and LCA Expert users can be handlers. If nobody is set, requests go to your Global Admins.
Answering a request
Open the request to see what they asked for, their message, and what each answer would give them.
- Publish in response: opens the publish flow, already filled in from the request. Every listing you publish here is shared with the customer who asked and nobody else, even if it would otherwise be private, and the request reads as answered on both sides. You choose which product and which impact categories to share.
- Accept only: confirms you work together and shares nothing by itself. Publish later, or grant a listing you already have.
- Decline: for a data request, the customer is told the verdict and nothing more. For an invitation, they are not told: to them it simply expires.
Nothing is shared until you publish. Only a colleague who can publish to the Registry can answer with a listing.
After publishing, you can attach the evidence behind your figure, and choose whether it is for Only the buyer who asked or Any buyer who can see this listing. They get a copy when they use your data.
Requests about several items
A customer can ask about many items in one request. Under Answer each item, each item shows its name, your code for it, its GTIN and their code for it:
- Answer publishes a listing for that item.
- Decline asks for an optional reason, which they read, for example "we no longer supply this".
- Add a product they did not list answers with something they did not ask about.
- Decline it all declines every open item at once.
The request stays open while any item is open.
Requests for farm data
A request for farm activity data offers Record farm data: pick the site the record describes, record the season, and once the footprint is computed, publish it in response. Recording farm data needs the Farm raw materials add-on.
Suppliers who are not on Sustained
A supplier who is not a Sustained customer answers through the Registry form at registry.sustained.com, from the link in their email. They enter their figures and evidence, choose who else may see them, and submit; the customer who asked reviews it before anything is published.
