How Can I Compare Recipes?

Put two or more recipes side by side to see which ingredients drive the difference between them.

Included in every plan

Comparison is how a reformulation decision actually gets made: not "what does this recipe cost", but "which of these two costs less, and because of what".

Comparing

  1. Go to Products > Recipes.
  2. Turn on the Compare toggle at the top of the list.
  3. Select the recipes you want to compare.
  4. Open the comparison.

Recipes compare against other recipes. They do not compare against products, because the two cover different life cycle stages and a side-by-side would be reading a partial model against a complete one.

Reading the comparison

The view shows total impact, grade and the ingredient-level breakdown for each recipe together. The ingredient breakdown is the useful part: two recipes with similar totals can get there completely differently, and it is the ingredient rows that tell you which swap is worth making.

Setting a reference

As with product comparison, any selected recipe can be set as the reference. The others then show deltas against it, positive or negative, so you can read the effect of a change rather than two absolute numbers.

Viewing options

Comparisons support per recipe, per kilogram and per serving where servings are set on every recipe selected. Per kilogram is usually the fairest basis when the recipes are different sizes.
